On August 19, 2026, UCP of Greater Cleveland and Case Western Reserve University’s Communication Sciences Program—including many members of the CaSE Lab—partnered to offer free developmental screenings for children from 0 to 3 years. The event combined the COSI Program’s clinical and academic expertise with UCP’s commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities and their families. Families also received information about helpful community resources and support services.

The screenings were held in the newly revitalized clinical parent-toddler playroom in the COSI Building. Screening days are planned twice each year in coordination with Club chAT: 0–3 Caregiver and Me, a six-week program for families of young children that will be held in the same space. Led by speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists from UCP, the program provides caregiver coaching and practical strategies to support children’s early communication and movement. Families will also learn about and be offered the opportunity to participate in related research and program opportunities during these events.
